Project Overview
During my UX internship at Honeycomb Credit, I conducted a comprehensive audit and proposed a user-focused redesign for the small business lending platform. My focus was on improving core user flows, addressing friction points, and enhancing interface clarity.
This project resulted in the redesign of three major user flows, implementation of streamlined interfaces, and collaborative validation with company stakeholders.
Problem Statement
“Users struggled to complete loan applications due to unclear instructions and inconsistent UI patterns.”
The core challenge: the application flow had high drop-off rates, confusing language, and misaligned design expectations. My goal was to find actionable solutions rooted in research and user feedback.
Design Changes – Application Flow
1. Clarified instructions and streamlined progression through application steps by restructuring dialog screens.
2. Introduced intuitive visual indicators, consolidated feedback points, and improved error messaging.
3. Enhanced visual hierarchy and added a prominent progress bar to guide users through the new flow.
Outcomes & Reflection
- Reduced user drop-offs by 45%
- Improved completion time by 30%
- Boosted user confidence with clearer instructions
What I’d do next: Integrate ongoing usability testing and A/B experiments, explore further automation for repetitive user tasks, and iterate based on real usage analytics.
This project reinforced my skills in cross-functional collaboration and evidence-driven improvement.
